Great story and what's interesting is that there is a lot more to it. Well done to Tyler and Owen - keep going.

There are some unsavoury rumours floating around....

stunet Tuesday, 28 Mar 2017 at 05:16 pm new

Many of them thanks to Derek Hynd...

Derek Rielly?

Not what I read. DH made a few not-so-well-concealed allusions to substance abuse. 'Twas surprised to see him being so cavalier with someone's reputation.

Fair enough. I read something similar from Derek Rielly.

Haven't read Hyde's.

Thanks i read that and didn't even pick up on the foul reference made by the author. The commenters picked it apart though

If you have some concrete knowledge of an alternative reason for the injury and you think it's worth reporting then have the balls to go and tell the family first and then explain why it's important to put it out there. This tabloid style bullshit of rumour mongering and "I could say but I won't" is just plain cowardly. If you're the type of person that thinks this topic should be dealt with publicly then put up or shut up.

BTW, I'm not talking about OW. Tyler did mention family problems, mothers health. It would not have been easy and hence she has managed this so well. Very impressive and good on her. Not sure what 'DH talk' is about. A great surfing family.

I enjoyed that.

They seem like a great family.

That's what all families should do, look after each other.
