Brown Town - photos

Swellnet Dispatch

The last few days have seen incredible rainfall totals across the Gold and Tweed Coasts in the wake of ex-TC Debbie. Some locations in the hinterland recorded over 800mm in the space of under 48 hours.

Now, all of this rainfall has to go somewhere, and after flooding large swathes of low lying areas and cutting off major roads like the Pacific Motorway, this water eventually flows out to sea.

And the end result is Brown Town in the surf zone.

Check this surfcam roundup from the Gold and Tweed Coast. And remember not to swallow!

The water on the south coast has been that colour for weeks now. Bull shark paradise.

Worst Floods in a Generation again skegz hurling toys are looking least helpful.
A penthouse of floaty things & $1000 superhero suit... then put it to good use.
These Dayz our Metermaids are left to fight floods...I'm sure Skegz still get down and dirty!
Paddle Gran to lotto counter/rescue jellyfish up a tree. Then go stick finger in chocky barrel.
I'll be seeing ya neighbour. Hooroo!

Pah, looks like mid-Summer Middleton Bay...without the weed.

As Hurricane Higgins used to say:

If you can't sink the pink, pot the brown.
