But from an observers point of view, at least an interested observer, the way a single swell source can throw waves at 45° angle of incidence is incredible. The effect bathymetry has on breaking waves has only started to be understood, but this vid shows the ocean floor at Nazare will remain an enigma for a long while yet.
Interesting perspective, gives a better view on how 'wedgey' the Nazare peak is as opposed to footage from the clifftop.
That first bloke pretty much backdoor'd it, before getting absolutely walloped. I wonder if that approach is ever going to be viable at Nazare, it definitely makes for better viewing than the typical shoulder hopping.
