Welcome to another Great Moment in Marketing.
To cross promote their new Iggy Pop x Billabong boardshorts - a collaboration that feels as natural as a 70-year old in a leather jacket - Occy has been lined up to interview James Newell Osterberg, though it may as well be Robert Mugabe for all the rapport established.
Occ doesn't know where Iggy is from. Iggy has never heard of Kong or Chappy Jennings. Occy doesn't know Iggy's music. Iggy didn't hear the question.
...and so on.
After a purple patch of Occ-Casts, this instalment hits like a speedhump. Still, nice to know Iggy is healthy though if you want some better vision then see below.

Preemptive strike on the hollow vessel that is Billabong 2017 when I said that the Metallica boardies were the low point in surf clothing history the other day.
Though judging by this tepid effort it's obvious I was wrong.
If I find a pair of these putrid things under the tree then someone is going to have their merry Christmas pulled up short.

Had a mate who was in London in the mid 90's working for MTV...his role was "runner" for the guests. Essentially the green room was to be furnished with the requirements of each guest...his job was to liaise with the necessary suppliers and keep the guest happy. Iggy's requirement was an A4 page of pharmaceuticals listed in order to the milligram. They were to be placed out in order and he would work through them in sequence to get through the show. He said it was the most outrageous thing he has ever seen. They don't make rock stars like that anymore.

Wow I don't remember real clearly but I'm sure I saw iggy pop play in the new year at Falls festival in Lorne about 20 years ago. He was past it back then and was one of the recycled acts they brought out each year. I don't know about the criticism of the Billabong Metallica board shorts. I haven't bought many items from the big 3 surf brands for about 20 years but love the Metallica boardies I scored. Very cool I thought!
