He's made longboards, shortboards, kneeboards, and windsurfers, single fins, twin fins, Thrusters, and quads, he's surfed the world over and he's still surfing now. And best of all, he's got a memory that recalls it all.
If you're up for a surf chat then McTavish is your man, and this May he's off to the Maldives with The Perfect Wave.
The charter is aboard the MV Naera sailing the North and South Male Atolls for 7 days and 8 nights. Those nights will be spent talking story with Bob and also listening to his mate Murray Patterson (The Dark Horses, Headland soundtrack) playing some tunes.
