My two fav old school surfers, Tom doesn't smile much though.

BTW. Coriolis Effect is real but the toilet thing isn't actually true, it's much too small and it would you need water that is totally settled to see the effect.

Yep correct, but not quite at the end.

You just need the subject to experience the Coriolis force for at least 12 hours (half the Earth's orbit time) to see this effect.

IE if the toilet took 12 hours to flush it'd start spinning a certain way, but it doesn't so it's just down to the design :)

I reckon that's the most animated and in depth I've ever heard Tommy Curren. Such a freakish surfer and obviously a super talented musician but has always come across as a bit of a tortured soul.

Felt like I wanted to give him a big hug at the end of that cause you can see that he really struggles to talk about himself and his achievements so to do that for 37 minutes must have been tough. The bloke walks to the beat of a totally different drum compared to just about all of us.

Loved his surfing more than anyone's from the mid 80s to end of the early 2000s and will always remember surfing with him and about a dozen Basque fellas at pumping 6-8 foot Mundaka one freezing morning in the Winter of 92/93. He tore the joint a new one but still looked like he had another gear if he wanted it.

There's really a lot of similarity between the way Kelly Slater speaks these days now that he's a bit more reflective and how Tom Curren talks. Looking at Tom's face in this interview kind of makes me think I am looking at Kelly Slater talking in another 10 years

He is old.

Don't think he likes the camera

Mates don't let mates rollerblade.

But rollerskating? That's kinda cool.

I had the pleasure to meet and chat reasonbly in-depth with Mr. Curren a couple of years ago. Really nice bloke, super humble.

Guess what there is an inarticulate yank. I didn’t think they existed. Super cool fella and I would to chat to him as he isn’t a motormouth and seems really humble. How was occys voice when he was young, that was a pisser.

I always thought Occy sounded like a bit of a poof.

Ripped though.
