Watch: Clay Marzo twist and contort

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

He doesn't pump them out as regularly as Mason Ho, but when Clay Marzo drops an edit it's equally as exciting. Both twist and contort their bodies in delightful ways, both enjoy a rock dance, though Marzo at least takes his licks from menacing perfection rather than simply seeing what's surfable.

This clip clocks in at nine minutes, but forget the time, simply sit back and enjoy. Or better yet, stand up and stretch those taut hammys of yours.

Have to be one of the most talented surfers on earth
Would love to see him in action at maxing Outside Corner Ulu ...and his choice of equipment ?

Agree, makes barrels that aren't even there. It's incredible. That drone shot of the crystal clear reef at 3:13s is insane as well.

Agreed. I never paid much attention to him until this clip (https://vimeo.com/70934101). One of my favorite clips of the last decade I reckon.

I don't think I've seen anyone take those under-the-lip take offs like he does, somehow instantly generating speed. And just so relaxed.

So good.. He's not spending time in NW WA anymore?

How is the wave to wave double barrel thingy at 4.02

mr mick Monday, 12 Mar 2018 at 08:29 pm new

That takeoff at 1:40 typifies his strength/talent he has in abundance i reckon. Great surfer,
exciting to watch.

One of my favourite things is watching clay surf that big double up left at the end of the clip. Unbeleivable

As good as it gets...totally unique

Phenomenal talent. He has that Slater thing. The ocean just seems to bend around him, no matter how average or improbable the wave seems from the get go.

can't be real, fake news. how does he pop out of those 'not barrels'?

SoCal Steve Tuesday, 13 Mar 2018 at 03:11 am new

The CT would have to hang it up if Clay was competing. He must have had a board with him in the womb before being born.

He is surfings magician, leaves you wondering how some of it is possible.
Fantastic to watch
