Watch: Sebastian Zietz in 'Belloha'

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

A Round 2 loss at the Quiksilver Pro saw Seabass with enough free time to make this clip then whip down to Bells for the last round of swell. Click play for the fresh Bells footage plus  some Hawaiian waves filmed earlier this year.

The lowly Quik result doesn't tally up with the surfing you see below and only makes a Fantasy Surfer decision that much harder.

Stu , you may know my feelings towards Seabass. Maybe not.

He’s my favourite pro surfer. If I was to share a session with any current top tier surfer it’d be Seabass. Great attitude to life ( according to his media feed anyway ) , fucking rips with amazing carves and full flair and he actually seems to enjoy surfing for a living .

But.....I’ve been burnt before by his comp deal. When he delivers , he delivers. When he doesn’t he drops clips like this .

He’s the Dusty Payne for 2018 as far as ability , results and freesurf ripping goes.

If there’s a custom Patterson board at stake I’m backing the likes of Medina ahead of the Seabass’ of the world. Medina is like the white pointer of pro surfing. The Big Fish doesn’t hate the seal as it rips it in two pieces, that’s just what it was bred to do. Same with Medina as he paddles over the back of his tour mates to catch the wave that he surfs to the point of embarrassing them as professional surfers. It’s his nature.

Seabass ‘ nature is to surf hard and have fun, not to feast on the bones of his competitors and that’s why I dig his act.

A couple of Gary's associates found themselves alone in a quiet corner of a crowded lineup with Seabass around the time of the Bells comp a year or two ago. Spoke very highly of the experience.

I can't believe you still talk about yourself in third person

Blowin Wednesday, 28 Mar 2018 at 09:55 pm new

Blowin loves the stylings of Gary G.

Gary G Thursday, 29 Mar 2018 at 10:43 am new

Gary can't believe that after years of reading Gary's prose you don't talk about yourself in the the third person, Mibs.

Like most of Gary's hobbies, don't knock it til you've tried it... xo

I saw that Bee Gees do from a few feet away on the Goldy . Freshly blown dry . It’s not doing him any favours.

Lucky he rips.

Did you take that photo , Stu ? Are you at Bells ?

Mate , if that’s you then no dramas . Take it on the chin.

I’ve got my own foibles that’ll put your little idiosyncrasies in the shade don’t you worry.

Struth mate that was a but harsh! Was just playing with the balls of Australian sarcasm and the very gay thread written above involving some love for bass and a offer from GG.

The guy is a freak and I love the way he surfs. He really has a unbelievable amount of natural ability and flair. Hawaii really do turn out rippers.

Seabass is like a happy, less edgy version of A.I
