Watch: Padang Padang claims
I ain't the kinda guy who throws a blanket over all claims as being the result of bad breeding. Take Filipe Toledo for instance. It's impossible not to smile at some of his spontaneous reactions, like even he's surprised by what just unfolded on the wave. They're a joy to watch and share in the moment with him. And then you've got claims such as Jordy's premature Bell ringer which only made him look like a bell end.
Here's a few of the former; sheer exuberance from the finalists of Sunday's Rip Curl Cup Trials at Padang Padang. Turn the volume up for a bit of beachside atmosphere.
I'm not sure who's who in the vid, but these are the results (all four earn wildcards into the main event):

Excitable bunch but who can blame them, Padang Padang rates as one of best lefts around. Shame about the crowds and vibe..
This exactly highlights something I've noticed about the Asian countries I've been (Indo, Malaysia, Korea) and is something from which I think Australia can take a lesson - no tall poppy syndrome!
People are genuinely stoked to see you having a good time....whether it be Karoake or Surfing or whatever. Doesn't matter if you are any good or not - that's not the point. Follow on is that you can now cut loose cause no-one is going to shout you down or give you any shit about it.
