OK, you may have noticed there was no report last month. Yep, May wasn’t great over here, and that meant any improvements were always going to be welcome!

Luckily June lifted the gloom with a very consistent run of southeast trade-wind swell, plus three pulses of good quality south swell that lifted the rights from their slumber.

The local guides all agree that this year isn’t looking like a year of big swells, but they are expecting mid-range consistency all the way through to late November. To be honest, that seems to suit the majority of our guests just fine.

We're seeing more and more surfing couples, and families staying here at Lohis, so the staple diet of playful 3-4ft surf is very well received, though with July just around the corner I’m hoping that we have some A-Grade days coming soon!

Just look at the ments on the furthest zoom you can see the region off the east coast of Africa
