Watch: Natxo in 'A Dream To Share'

Swellnet Dispatch

Y'all remember the wave that Natxo Gonzalez discovered about this time last year? Yes, no..?

Probably the latter, 'cos despite lacing the clip with childhood footage of Natxo surfing, mixing it with a stringed arrangement and proclaiming it 'A Dream Come True', the project floundered. The footage showed a third-rate Snake that was forgotten by sundown, and if it wasn't for the one wave made it would've drained from our memory banks even sooner.

But ol' Natxo didn't forget, and he recently returned with an entourage in tow. Unlike Mick, who returned to the Snake to find a lesser version of the original, Natxo returned to find the wave in better shape.

“When I was here for the first time with my good friend and filmer Jon Aspuru, I was really scared at times," said Natxo. "The wave breaks in really shallow water and we were all alone. After catching a couple of waves, I stopped surfing. Not because I was tired or the waves stopped, it was simply too dangerous. There was no one around, it is a long drive to the nearest town and an even longer one to the nearest hospital."

"So I decided to take some of my best friends on the next big swell and it was completely different. Not only was the angle of the swell a little easier, to have your best friends around makes you feel more safe and charge harder. And as they say: sharing is caring."

That was pretty special. Nomination for clip of the year (so far) followed by young Griff at Trestles. Ahh..hang on...I forgot Ulu's - now that was good too....Oh and Nias. Shit I need a surf.

Great clip.

Almost a regular-footers version of Skeleton Bay.

Being hyper critical but Natxo seems to be having an argument with his board and his mate makes one decent tube...need some boogers..rather see what Ben Player and friends would do with that one. C- from me

Naxto apparently broke a whole quiver of boards on this day. Is there such thing as a Super-strong "softboard" (like those Elnino things) that could feasably be ridden in waves like this?

That’s the 20th time I’ve watched that clip .. epic!
