Maybe thats what this is? The timing of release just after the hype of the biggest thing to happen in comp surfing in a while. Hes been MIA but this is just ‘hey im still here and more than relevant!’
When you watch JJF, Dane and Noa clips you see the limitations so clearly that the WSL now faces.
Well produced, insanely high level, landmark surfing vs monotonous, repetitive and dated competition format surfing.
Watch one over and over again, replaying your favourite parts at your leisure or sit through 10 hours of drudge with ads and inane commentary in the hope of a snippet of genius or at least a modicum of competitive tension.

I missed the foam ball bit on the initial broadcast due to overloaded internet streaming, but I get all the comments now- Amazing, only way it would have been better is if John came out with one of those fish in his open mouth. The guy rips.

I happen to have a Phd in surf clip music. Twenty years of study, my life's work you understand. Anyway, I entered this clip into the supercomputer we have here at Oxford University and after four hours of calculations it was determined that the music was crap. You can't argue with science Andrew.
the editing in relation to the music was unreal. my supercomputer couldn’t getpast the religious shite to give an objective conclusion on the music itself. but the surfing - he is miles and miles ahead of the pack
Yeah, the goodness of his surfing nearly blew up the computer. It was a close in thing for a while. Fortunately I also have a Phd in computerology.

Wow, every wave was a Revelation! Thats why the music was perfect, JJF is the most entertaining surfer on the planet, when he emerges from that wave riding the foam ball.... The question could be, Is he peaking now or is he going to get better?
