Watch: The mesmerising barrels of Skeleton Bay

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

There's been so many deserted righthand barrels seen this week that Red Bull has decided to flip the script with the long lefthand barrels of Skeleton Bay - though they're no longer deserted.

This swell was back in July and features Natxo Gonzalez, Aritz Aranburu, and Dale Staples all mouth-mounted and poised to update their Instagram accounts.

funny how watching predictable endless barrels in the ocean doesn’t get boring, but the same in a wave pool is a yawn fest. something about the ocean and nature...

If a pro gets pitted at Skeleton Bay with no Go Pro and doesn't post anything to Instagram, did they even get barrelled?

Nick Bone Thursday, 27 Sep 2018 at 08:30 pm new

Oh how i make myself laugh. Watching this and then imagining MP and everyone with go pros in their mouth circa 70’s Kirra..

I have to wonder what was making that seal leap out of the water so far at the 15 second mark

You’ve got to get your hands on a book called “ Jonathan Livingston Seagull” , Elicat.

Either that or check out Shark week on Discovery channel.

Surfed near 50 yrs , chased out by a mako and a tiger. I don't want a white to top that list. Discovery Channel can go f... itself. So can any book

I'm with you Billyw & Nick Bone. To be clear, there's no doubt that the clip had absolute amazing footage of an even more amazing natural phenomenon but WTF is with the modern ' I'm doing shit, F.I.G.J.A.M' mentality??? What ever happened to being humbled by an experience, just enjoying the moment for what it is, living off that memory for decades to come and positive endorphins that get released when rembering or retelling the experience? We sure are seeing the American 'I'm better than you' attitude shining through on the next generation of charges that's for sure.

Camera in your mouth probably more important than the session or getting barrelled.
This is pollution.
Egos and social media are going to fuck this world!
