Though the WSL flatly rejected last Monday's swell at Mavericks, plenty of surfers came prepared with both tow board - the forecast was for huge waves - and paddle guns for when the size eased.
The swell didn't hit as hard as expected, it was still tow size in the morning though it didn't maintain, which meant that by mid-morning the paddlers had taken over. This vid has a great mix of both.

Great backing music for some pretty awesome waves. Wouldn't catch me out there although maybe on a spectator boat it could be something.
