Fiji Met, who named Oma, ticked the next letter off the list when TC Pola sat between Fiji and New Cal for a few days. We're seeing the end of Pola's effects now, but looking into the near future there's no indication of cyclonic activity, so all we've got are memories.

Was that Wade C giving the double fingered salute on the drop in... I wonder if he was getting ski assisted (like every other pro) and the guy who dropped in just got the shits with it!! Stands to reason. And if it was just a blatant drop in on Wade (?) who'd been paddling his ass off all day without help....well maybe pro's are starting to get a bad rep for themselves and being tainted all with the same brush (you think!!!).
I was wondering the same thing. I'm a big fan of the Avoca Jesus in a WSL context, but when it comes to jetski assist at macking freesurf Kirra, then he should paddle just like the rest of the regular Schmoes.
If, however, he was paying his dues and battling the sweep with nothing but his arms and his alleged hard-core battler spirit, then he had every right to show that bloke his fingers, especially if the other guy had just jumped off the back of a ski...

Yeah as if they don't get enough waves, what are they going to do punch you in the head lol, good headline pro surfer using ski punches local paddler in head for dropping in, end of pro surfers career/sponsors.

I bet everyone on the beach was laughing at him as he approached the waters edge, however he definitely had the last laugh and was entitled to give them the middle finger! Just shows you don't need to own a flash board, just have good, gutsy surfing skills!
