Some solid carves and a bit of footstrap (a la' 80's Hynd) progression, pretty sick.

A mix of strapped-in/normal surfing - reckon he paddled those waves then put his feet in for the strapped sections? or got towed in?
Supposing he paddled them and then put feet in straps, would that be legit in a comp?
It looks like windsurfing tricks without the sail... Interesting and different. Obviously not traditional, but how long before he lands a monster method out of a barrel at jaws and redefines the game?

Two different boards? Grip / straps on one of them....Edits and close ups deliberately evasive? It'd be pretty hard to slip the foot in on take off. I'm guessing tow ins. Laird was doing this stuff 20 years ago on monsters. Still - kind of impressive. Edit**just had another look (and a read of the lead in). He's wearing a contest singlet, and according to Stu - no tow ropes. Even more impressive.

Ya gotta love a hater that can't count, it was 1.28 of progressive surfing with a hint of old school flair.
