Watch: Mason Ho rocks

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

Never gets old. Mason Ho finds yet more places to indulge his strange desire of mixing surf and geology.

First sequence is a new locale, replete with a number of close calls, while the second half is an old favourite for risking trauma and industrial strength dermabrasion. All of it makes for fine entertainment.

That's one way of avoiding crowds.

I’m never sure why such a talented surfer engages in stupidity like this.

Novelty and fun, to keep it fresh. The excitement of surfing a weird or unusual wave or spot brings back the grom in all of us I feel.

I couldn't be sure why an undoubtedly not untalented commentariat would engage in watching stupidity like this, though the fact that they do might explain why it's there in the first place.

I find Mason's antics far more enjoyable than the JOB 'look at me mum' type stuff

And a great person to meet, friendly and positive! Funnily enough it was near a break with shallowish rocks and a geology lesson if you blow the takeoff.
