Watch: Sardinian Crew

Craig Brokensha (Craig)
Swellnet Dispatch

Another great video from our favourite Mediterranean surf chaser, Roberto D'Amico. Roby capitalised on a rare south swell and teamed up with Marlon Lipke, Aritz Aranburu and Gony Zubizarreta while also running into locals Francisco Porcella and Nicola Bresciani. Mixing it up from a wedgey left point to some windy rights, it shows there are some quality options in the Med.

Fuckin Vimeo

What's the issue? Not playing for you?

Yendor Tuesday, 21 Jan 2020 at 01:14 pm new

So here is my experience with Vimeo. The auto setting is rubbish, it tries to stream videos at too high a rate for either my connection or my device. What I do is go to the settings and turn it down to a lower resolution maybe 260p for my phone, don't really needed it higher for such a small screen anyway. It is a pain and I prefer YouTube as well but this often helps.

Craig Tuesday, 21 Jan 2020 at 01:18 pm new

Aghh, yeah I have the same issue, auto never chooses the right stream! Annoying.

Don’t ever cross the streams , Ray.

Touching swords isn’t a good idea either.

and unlike you tube, you can't preview by hovering over the video loading bar to see what frames are ahead, - which I ALWAYS use to cut out the guff and get to the surfing.

Was about to say the same.

Dave Drinkwater Tuesday, 21 Jan 2020 at 02:47 pm new

Loved the surfing with the sound down, there are so many underground bands, why choose that track???

This guy is really putting the mediterranean on the map! Wonder if it will boost surf tourism in the area

Nickerless Wednesday, 22 Jan 2020 at 02:25 pm new

Doubt it terminal.. it's pretty fickle over there! I mean I love surfing but if your in Italy for the waves you are doing it wrong!

memlasurf Wednesday, 22 Jan 2020 at 02:37 pm new

Ahh yeah agree with that comment. The last thing you go to Europe for is waves as there is so much to take in. Good clip though and if you have ever been to the Med you wonder how they get waves like this as most of the time it is like a lake.

Craig Wednesday, 22 Jan 2020 at 02:41 pm new

No wondering when you've grown up in Adelaide and surfed the Mid Coast ;p

T.Edds Wednesday, 22 Jan 2020 at 05:46 pm new

Average surfing in average waves. How is this on the front page?

ringmaster Wednesday, 22 Jan 2020 at 06:45 pm new

Um........probably cause it's a region you don't associate with quality surf....novelty etc. Level of surfing was vgood with a couple of Euros best.

Glass is always half empty for some people innit!

mibs-oner Wednesday, 22 Jan 2020 at 07:24 pm new

Not everyone is full shred level like teddy bear

t-diddy Thursday, 23 Jan 2020 at 04:32 pm new

wow I wouldn't have guessed there would ever be surf like that in Sardinia! That song...was that recorded at a karaoke bar?

Clam Thursday, 23 Jan 2020 at 05:02 pm new

Is this what they call winter surf ?
