Some Cameras Down Due To Floods
Water and electricity don't mix...
Due to widespread flooding in south-east Queensland and northern NSW, some of Swellnet's services are down, namely select cameras and Forecast Notes.
The following addresses each in order.
An NBN failure on the Gold Coast has cut power to five cameras:
Greenmount
Superbank
Spot X
Kirra Big Groyne
Kirra
The Tweed, D'Bah, and Snapper Rocks cameras still work, as does every camera from North Kirra north.

On the Sunshine Coast, just Alex Bluff and Coolum are out.
In northern NSW, flooding has temporarily taken out the first six cameras south of the border:
Kingscliff North
Kingscliff
Cabarita Beach
Cabarita
Byron Bay
The Pass
Messages from the NBN indicate that power would be restored in two days - i.e Friday - but we'll keep readers abreast of activity.
Yesterday, Forecast Notes for QLD, NSW, and TAS were unable to be completed as our forecaster is without internet. Many apologies for the miss.
Tomorrow, all Forecast Notes will be completed, though some may be in an abridged format. (There may also be a few more spelling and grammatical errors than usual!)
We'll keep you posted on developments in the comments below.

Massive thanks to the LNP for our world class NBN. One flooded exchange in the two-horse town of Woodburn takes out the whole Northern Rivers and Southern GC, with zero redundancy. Brilliant.
Fucking NBN what an absolute joke.
Satellite NBN works great if you can get it in your area.
F dem Govnent
What about Victorian Cam?
Narrabeen and Bondi been down for a couple of years now.
Spelling and grammatical errors!!!!!!
F&*K that, I'm outta here.
;-)
One gee.
Lots of northern rivers communities without phones or OOOservices. All the best to those suffering under the Putin of floods let alone......
Crazy days
All Goldy cameras except for Greenmount are back.
More returning shortly.
Hi Stu, slightly unrelated to this thread but can you tell me what happened to the Moffats cam on the Sunshine Coast? Was always good to check but I'm suspecting the locals weren't too appreciative.
There are locals at Moffat’s? Lol, who knew? Probably a coupla crusty old Mal riders protecting the second fattest wave in QLD after Alex Headland :)
grateful for being spared all disastrous climate events the east coast has copped since Scotty from marketing held up his lump of coal in parliament, but what's happening with the Margaret River camera?
Booking flights right now to head over and fix it up (and some other stuff too). Needs a complete overhaul, which is much more complex than a simple cam swapover. Grateful that we can finally travel to WA, the border has been closed for two years which has prevented us doing any maintenance trips.
Sweet, how's that for keeping the customer satisfied.
