Occy's Encore Screenings
Too much of a good thing is never enough for Jack McCoy...
Earlier this year, Jack teamed up with Mark Occhilupo for a 25th anniversary tour of 'The Occumentary'. Amazingly, the film hadn't ever been seen in cinemas so ol' Jack had to do much work to project it to screen size. At the screening I attended, Jack explained the process, though I can't recall just what it was he did - my mind doesn't latch onto technical details.
Nevertheless, the film looked unreal on the big screen and sounded great too. As is Jack's way, he invites a special guest or two to each show - was Richo and Occ down our way - they have a Q&A, then Jack gives away a few prizes. All the ingredients for an evening of laughter and warmth. Go for the show, stay for the camaraderie.
The new shows are:
- Thursday August 22 at Warriewood Grand Theatre
- Saturday August 24 at the Randwick Ritz.
- Wednesday August 28 Margaret River Arts Centre
- Friday August 30 Luna Theatre, Perth
- Saturday August 31 Gage Roads Brewery, Fremantle

Regarding Occy being a total drop-in, dickhead, or not ... never really understood the vitriol thrown at him online.
Until see him burning Parko in the barrel at the Gold Coast Challenger event legends session confirmed it.
For show?? Perhaps.

Is the Occ a bit on the nose these days due to years of blatant dropping in on the people ( us average punters) who enabled him to not work a real day in his life by buying billabong products?

That's it for me. Bloke is trash and doesn't respect anyone, people shouldn't support him at all.
I have surfed at snapper rocks for over 30 years and understand it is such a crowded wave. Lots of people drop in out there. There are people from pros to learners and most of the pros take off behind the rock or pretty close to them are very respectful to the learners and average joes. occy on the other hand does not seem to have any respect for anyone out there and many of the locals know this. So i would say to occy change your attitude and understand what surfing is really all about. Make an good example of yourself out there. It's not too late.
He's not going to change. Burn him back if you get the chance, he won't say a thing.
He will probably make you like a kook if he gets a few turns in behind you though.
