Anthony Albanese gave a excellent critique of the first 12 months of the Abbott government this week. They're calling it his 'Rolling Stones'speech. He really gets going around the two minute mark and you can see why many think he gives the best speeches in this parliament.
As an orator he not at the level of Barack Obama but he speaks powerful words. Its a pity this stuff doesn't get viewed by a wider audience.
Here's a link to his speech from Albo's Facebook page.....

This gives an idea of what Floyds beloved Labor Party has done to Australia.

Example 1. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we took half of everything earned by every Australian for two years the debt would return to zero.

Example 2. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we stopped every Social Security payment for three years the debt would return to zero.

Example 3. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we spent no money on health for seven years the debt would return to zero.

Example 4. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we spent no money on education for 14 years the debt would return to zero

Example 5. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we spent no money on defence for 19 years the debt would return to zero

Don't forget that they started with 20 billion in the bank, and governed through the biggest mining boom in Australia's history.

grocer Friday, 5 Dec 2014 at 02:59 pm new

Oh, I forgot to mention the interest repayments on Labors debt is 13 billion a year. A lot of roads ,hospitals and education could be paid for with that much money.

grocer the fuckwit,

no-one is denying the budget/economy needs "structural adjustment" (you might need to look up what that means) but in this country, unlike in others, the budget has to pass what Alan Jones refers to as "the pub test" i.e. fairness. That is why the vast majority of Australians and 95% of the political commentarate thinks Abbott/Hockey's budget sinks.

Fairness. Got it. The load shared.

Ah, the irony of Hockey warning if his budget isn't passed Australian living standards will fall, when if the budget is passed countless families' living standards will fall immediately by $1,000s each year. What planet is he on?

yocal Friday, 5 Dec 2014 at 04:36 pm new

There was a global recession in 2009, China & our declining mining boom stretched our leftover industry out to about 2012, now we are seeing the end of 2014 and in my view Australia is heading toward another recession. Ask anyone about the level of workforce redundancies happening at the moment.

This demonstrates moreso that our politicans have fuck all control of the local economy due to global forces. Especially when they only have short-term policies and have no foresight into the long-term global landscape.

grocer Saturday, 6 Dec 2014 at 09:41 pm new

Listen to to the fools trying to excuse the inexcusable. Australia never had a recession . They had the peak of of the mining boom and look what we've got to show for it. A 13 million a year interest bill.
.
Floyd talks about fairness .Whats so fair about burdening the nation with generations of debt?
The Labor party fucks the place ,and then does everything in its power to stop the next government from fixing .

When you look at the fact Floyd , the only fuckwit here is you and your sheep brained followers.

We had two mining booms grocer, care to comment on what Howard did with the $$$ from the first? To remind you, its what Deloitte now refers to as the budget's ongoing financial commitments (as a legacy of the Howard/Costello years) that need to be reigned in, that are unsustainable, that should never had been put in place in the first place. While commenting on that you might remind me on what on-going, as a opposed to one-off, programs Labor put in place that are costing the budget the billions Howard's tax cuts and concessions on e.g. superannuation.

grocer Saturday, 6 Dec 2014 at 09:50 pm new

Costello left 20 billion in the the budget and produced a surplus in every budget he delivered . Swan promised a surplus over four hundred times yet left a 300 billion deficit . They had the best of it , yet still left with a huge debt. There's no excuse for it .

surplus, deficit, its just a figure, the real figure is providing sustainable infrastructure for ausises to build their futures on without having toxic back yards or face masks to combat air pollution. australia has the technology and the flow on economic benefits to diversify in many industries and attract overseas capital. Did you see grocer we spend a $ 1.09 a day in scientific development- fact.
The Australian people through the new ten second grab media has been lead to believe in headlines but not content, the headline is Tony is going okay, he content, is he is out of sync with our biggest issue, climate change and industrial and economic advances to show that we do carte about our planet and ALL THAT LIVE ON AND IN IT>

Yes the polls . Look mate , I know your a bit slow so I'll try to explain it for you .
The election is two years away , so the polls don't really mean much at the the moment .Now if the the election was in a few weeks or even a month or two then they might have more significants but two years is a long time in politics.

Yeah well , when they turn a 20 billion surplus into a 300 billion deficit while promising 400 times that they would produce a surplus through the biggest mining boom Australia's ever seen. .
Or when cause over1500 men women and children to drown at sea ( probably a lot more)
Or when they destroy the live cattle industry
Or when they cause the deathes of 4 young men through the pink bats disaster

Then I'll know why the polls are so bad.

Retiring Westpac CEO had words of praise for Wayne Swan handling of the GFC during a recent interview on 7:30ABC.
"....as a CEO of a bank to build very constructive relationships with the government of the day and work closely with the Government. Through the GFC, that was particularly important. And I think Australia was well-served by an excellent regulator in John Laker. Obviously our head of the central bank, Glenn Stevens, and then our Treasurer, Wayne Swan, and our Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, all pulling together and working very closely with the CEOs of the major banks at the time."

Its not the message its the way we are conveying it. This is the disease in conservative ranks currently; blind belief they are right they just need to convince us stupid voters better e.g. Christopher Pyne and his posion education reforms.

If they keep this religious like fervour up until the next election they are dead meat; no surer thing could be imagined.

You are also suffering from this blind belief grocer or are you deliberately moronic for the sake of forum piss-taking?

grocer Sunday, 7 Dec 2014 at 10:13 pm new

This is what your champion treasurer gave us.

Example 1. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we took half of everything earned by every Australian for two years the debt would return to zero.

Example 2. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we stopped every Social Security payment for three years the debt would return to zero.

Example 5. The debt left by the Labor party is so great that if we spent no money on defence for 19 years the debt would return to zero

Don't forget that they started with 20 billion in the bank, and governed through the biggest mining boom in Australia's history.

When Swan left government he said that the years deficit was 18 billion . When the next government looked at the books it turned out to be 48 billion.
Like most Labor politicians , Swan was a compulsive liar.

yorkessurfer Sunday, 7 Dec 2014 at 10:28 pm new

Yet here's a quote from news.com on Wayne Swan being awarded Finance Minister of the Year for 2011 by respected EuroMoney magazine. Heady praise coming from a Murdoch publication??

"The magazine applauded his "swift response to stimulate the economy'' despite "strong opposition at home'' and said he had "succeeded in getting most of the important decisions right'.

"These include putting in place an exit strategy for the stimulus and sticking to it, imposing a fiscal discipline that many other finance ministers refusing to adopt,'' said the magazine's citation of Mr Swan.

"Swan continued to deliver this strong and steady performance despite political difficulties at home, in which his Labor Party only has the smallest possible majority through the support of independent MPs.''

yorkessurfer Sunday, 7 Dec 2014 at 10:52 pm new

Your $48 billion dollar budget deficit figure is as rubbery as Abbott's credibility too grocer. On Insiders this morning journalist Phillip Coorey said treasury released figures before the last election (as they do before every election) showed the deficit to be $30 billion dollars.

According to Coorey Abbott and Hockey's $48 billion figure includes an amount of $9 billion that was given by Hockey to the Reserve Bank after the election and other spending increases during the first 12 months of the Abbott government.

So it's an $18 billion dollar markup.

Why the bullshit from Abbott and his treasurer? The $30 billion dollar figure is nothing to be proud of from Labor but by adding on spending from after the Coalition won office it just further adds to the narrative that this government are a bunch of lying bullshit artists who think the public are gullible enough to swallow any crap they serve up?

Well some of public are gulping down whatever they say right grocer?
Just not the majority according to the polls?

grocer Sunday, 7 Dec 2014 at 10:53 pm new

You fucking gullible fools . Instead of looking at Swans woeful record , you believe a banker that makes 6 billion profit through ripping people off and a Money magazine from the economic basket case of Europe.
Typical Labor stooges.

yorkessurfer Sunday, 7 Dec 2014 at 11:00 pm new

That's right grocer Labor, the party of banks, corporations and big business?? Haha. Is there a brain in that recess between your ears?
It was once said that "not all conservative voters are stupid, but all stupid people vote conservative."
Let that statement bounce around in that void where your brain should be and see if you can work out which one of those two types of conservative voter groups you fit into?
