South Australian Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 4th November)
Apologies for the computer model forecast downtime, we're battling some gremlins in the system but hope to have it back ASAP
This week (Nov 4-8)
Conditions should continue to improve into tomorrow in the wake of the weekend's cold front, and exposed spots across the South Coast will be the pick for experienced surfers. Today's S/SW swell will ease while a distant SW groundswells fills in.
Waits and Parsons are expected to offer 3ft to occasionally 4ft sets all day, with 2-3ft waves at Middleton and winds will hold from the N/NE, tending variable into the afternoon.
Unfortunately winds will swing onshore at the peak of the swell, but the morning will be clean with early N/NE tending N/NW winds ahead of a mid-afternoon W/SW change.
The rest of the week will then be a write off with fresh S'ly winds and an easing swell Thursday and S/SE winds Friday. A new SW swell is due Friday but the S/SE winds will render every location down South a mess. The Mid should be in the 1ft+ range offering clean peelers for beginners.
Longer Term (Nov 9 onwards)
The weekend onwards is looking ordinary as a strengthening high pressure ridge directs gusty south-easterly winds across the state, kicking up a junky windswell with no real quality. This pattern looks to persist through most of next week, therefore make the most of the next 2 days of waves.
