Fun levels of NE swell and lighter morning winds created good waves across most locations yesterday morning before a S/SE change moved up to about Coffs, but failed to push further north, with NE sea breezes at remaining spots.

This morning a small mix of swells came in under yesterday's size, but conditions were good again with morning offshores.

This weekend (Nov 16-17)

A distant E/SE swell generated earlier this week by a fetch of winds exiting New Zealand's Cook Strait should be breaking across most locations this morning and will persist at an inconsistent 2ft through tomorrow before easing Sunday.

Each morning should offer clean conditions with a light offshore SW'ly tomorrow that will become a little stronger into Sunday morning.

Early next week (Nov 18-20)

There's nothing major on the cards for the first half of next week, as a surface trough generating a weak E/SE windswell for the Southern NSW coast remains too far south and without much strength on the edge of our swell window (pictured right). In saying this, the Mid North Coast should see the most size from this system but not above 3ft or so. The North Coast will probably see small 2ft waves from the SE through Monday and Tuesday.

Longer Term (Nov 21 onwards)

The longer term is a little more promising but still up in the air with the models diverging on the possible developments of a couple of surface troughs in the Tasman Sea later next week. We may see some fun E/NE swell forming across the region, but we'll review this again Monday.
