Victoria Forecast (issued Friday 15th November)
Best Days: Monday, Tuesday morning
Recap
Poor waves continued across most of the state yesterday, with protected spots on the Surf Coast faring the best. This morning winds are onshore everywhere with a small swell leaving on options for a good wave.
This weekend (Nov 16-17)
Give the coast a miss this weekend as we're not expected any decent swell, quite the opposite actually with the surf expected to become small to tiny. Winds will be average as swell and from the S'th tomorrow and more variable from the SE Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday are the pick of next week as a new S/SW groundswell fills in, generated by a not overly strong but favourably aligned polar front (pictured right). The beach breaks will perform the best Monday with NE tending E'ly winds as the swell peaks at 2ft to occasionally 3ft on the Surf Coast during the afternoon and 4-5ft on the Mornington Peninsula.
A drop in size is due Tuesday but winds will be good again early, from the N'th ahead of a swing to the NW and then fresh SW change into the afternoon.
Longer Term (Nov 21 onwards)
The longer term outlook is poor with a return to fresh SE winds and SE windswell expected into the end of next week/weekend. We'll confirm this on Monday though.
