Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Tuesday 10th December)
Best Days: Every morning over the coming period
Recap
The weekend was average with a small swell and S'ly winds Saturday, while Sunday started off small ahead of a fresh pulse of S/SW swell during the day, but conditions deteriorated at the peak with strong S/SW sea breezes.
Yesterday the swell eased back across the state as more favourable offshores developed creating fun waves. This morning we're back to small surf again with fresh offshore winds from the E-SE.
Unfortunately there's nothing major on the cards for the coming week as a strong blocking high continues to dominate our swell window directly to our west (pictured right). This high effectively steers storms away from us, with all the activity currently being focussed into SA and Victoria.
This weekend (Dec 14 onwards)
Saturday will offer the best waves with the arrival of a new SW groundswell generated by a small front skirting around the high over the next couple of days. This isn't expected to top 3-4ft around Margs though, with 1ft+ sets in Perth and 2-3ft in Gero.
The longer term is a touch better with some medium sized W/SW groundswell on the cards for next week, but we'll look at this again in the next update.
