Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Wednesday 11th December)
Best Days: Friday, Saturday, early Sunday
Recap
The surf started out tiny yesterday but a late increase in new W/SW swell should have been seen ahead of a peak today to 1-2ft or so. Conditions were clean early but winds have since gone onshore.
This week and weekend (Dec 11 - 15)
Today's waves should ease through tomorrow as we fall in between swells but we should see a couple of good SW groundswells move up into the South Arm Friday and Saturday.
Winds should be favourable and from the NW tending W/NW Friday ahead of a late shift to the W/SW, while Saturday looks great with W/NW winds all day.
A slow drop in size is then expected Sunday and further into next week as the frontal activity dies down as a result of the Long Wave Trough moving off to the east and away from us.
Next week (Dec 16 onwards)
There's nothing major on the cards for next week as the storm track remains unfavourably aligned for our region so make the most of Friday and Saturday's swells.
