Victoria Forecast (issued Friday 13th December)
Best Days: Saturday and Sunday morning's west of Melbourne, Monday - Thursday east of Melbourne
Recap
Medium levels of W/SW swell have provided fun waves across the Surf Coast the last few days, while locations west of Melbourne have been average under the westerly synoptic pattern. Protected locations have faired the best but offered much smaller waves.
Today the pattern has continued and a slow increase in new SW groundswell is expected as this morning's NW winds swing fresh W/SW.
This weekend (Dec 14 -15)
A peak in size is expected overnight Saturday with Sunday providing similar sized waves to Saturday afternoon ahead of a slow easing trend into the afternoon and further next week.
Winds in general will be onshore from the SW over the weekend, but the Torquay region should see early W'ly winds each morning. Come Monday more variable winds are expected across the coast, with improving conditions across the Mornington Peninsula, with similar winds expected Tuesday.
Longer term (Dec 18 onwards)
Winds will swing more E/NE into Wednesday creating the cleanest day on the Mornington Peninsula with a small fun swell. Besides a couple of small and inconsistent SW groundswells later next week there's nothing major on the cards unfortunately so make the most of the current run of swell!
