Small and inconsistent 1ft to occasionally 2ft waves persisted across the coast all weekend and further into this morning, with similar waves expected for most of the period ahead.

This week and weekend (Dec 17 - 22)

Small levels of E'ly trade-swell should become bigger through this week as a weak easterly ridge strengthens through the Coral Sea.

This should see the 1-2ft of E'ly trade-swell building to a stronger 2ft+ across open beaches on the Goldy from Thursday through until Sunday.

The North Coast will see a touch less size, coming in at 2ft across open beaches with 1-2ft waves on the Mid North Coast.

Winds will unfortunately be onshore from the S/SE-SE across the Goldy through until Friday, while the North Coast should see more favourable variable and even SW winds each morning.

Longer term (Dec 23 onwards)

The E'ly trade-swell is expected to ease through early next week but likely persist at 1-2ft across open beaches. Beyond this some SE swell off a strengthening surface trough may be seen mid next week, but we'll review this again on Wednesday.
