Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Monday 6th January)
Best Days: Early Wednesday, Thursday afternoon and Friday morning at exposed spots
Recap
An acute W'ly swell was too acute to get into the South Arm over the weekend, maxing out at 1-1.5ft. Today the swell started out tiny, but a small increase has been seen this afternoon with strengthening onshore winds.
This week (Jan 7-10)
The swell will then ease into Wednesday out of the S/SE from the backside of the low with favourable W/NW winds at dawn.
A small increase in long-range W/SW groundswell is due through Thursday afternoon before easing Friday but to no major size.
This weekend onwards (Jan 11 - 12)
Unfortunately there's nothing major on the cards for the long term outlook with a long-range W/SW groundswell being generated too north (west-southwest of WA) to generate any major size Saturday.
Beyond this a large blocking high will move in slowly from the west putting a block on our major swell windows.
