Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 29th January)
Best Days: Monday - Wednesday at south swell magnets
Recap
A building NE windswell was seen through yesterday with strengthening N/NW winds, while a peak was seen this morning just as a S/SE change swept through creating good waves in protected southern corners. The swell should of eased more during the day as winds tended more E'ly.
This week (Jan 28 - 31)
We'll continue to see the NE windswell dropping away into tomorrow with average winds that may be variable early but will pick up from the NE during the day. This will kick up another pulse of NE windswell for Friday morning as a much weaker S'ly change moves through, so this looks like the best time to surf.
This weekend onwards (Feb 1 onwards)
There's nothing major for the weekend, but heading into next week some NE windswell on Monday should give way to a larger increase in S'ly swell on Tuesday but with poor winds (pictured right). Beyond this there's nothing too exciting on the cards but check back Friday for the next update.
