Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 5th March)
Best Days: Later Monday
Recap
There hasn't been much surf to talk about the last few days across the East Coast, and today a small expected NE windswell didn't really eventuate.
This week (Mar 5 - 7)
A late S'ly change this afternoon will bring with it a small increase in S/SE windswell tomorrow morning but to no major size and with onshore S/SE tending E'ly winds.
There won't be much left into Friday but winds should be lighter and more variable at dawn.
This weekend onwards (Mar 8 onwards)
Unfortunately there's nothing of significance expected across our coast into the start of the weekend. Moving into Sunday though a building northerly ridge down through the Tasman Sea should kick up a small increase in NE windswell Sunday afternoon ahead of a further kick Monday.
Winds will be poor for the most part, but a late swing to the NW is due Monday opening up some cleaner peaky waves across open beaches.
Longer term, there's some funky developments on the cards revolving around tropical activity in the Coral Sea, but its too hard to pin down any specifics at this early stage, so check back here on Friday for another update.
