An epic Finals day at the Fiji Women's Pro saw Sally Fitzgibbons reign supreme and claim victory after a day of pumping surf at Cloudbreak. She went head-to-head with five-time World Champion Stephanie Gilmore in their first match-up of the 2014 WCT season.
Otis Carey has been crowned Australian Indigenous Surfing Champion at Bells Beach taking down former Australian Champion Russell Molony in small but clean waves.
“This win is amazing and I feel great,” said Michel Bourez. “I didn’t expect to win two events in the same year so it feels brilliant. It’s great to be here in Rio and have another win - I'm so happy."
The first heat of the day featured a barrel shootout between current World No. 1 Gabriel Medina and veteran Travis Logie. Medina wasted little time in establishing a lead, earning an 8.50 for a deep forehand barrel in the opening minute of the heat.

In the most highly anticipated matchup of the day, John John Florence was explosive in his win over 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater and World No.1 Gabriel Medina. John John secured the victory when he dished up a monster frontside 360 aerial, scoring a Perfect 10, the the first of the 2014 season.
