Watch: Mornin Routine

Named Mornin Routine, this is anything but.

Heavy Puerto caverns with pristine conditions and only open to the locals under COVID-19 restrictions. Some beautifully heavy waves and just as big smack downs.

Gosh you'd think at a head high beachbreak they'd at least try to get deep in the barrel?!

bipola Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 04:28 pm new

looks good to me

JackStance Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 05:00 pm new

that was sick.

sangsta Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 05:12 pm new

Ok, I will never again complain about having to duck dive under 4 foot "Beachie Bombs". Much thanks for sharing that gem.

KevinHardwick Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 05:21 pm new

Awesome...Love the song

goofyfoot Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 07:52 pm new

That'd get the heart rate up

Blingas Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 08:02 pm new

Not many tubes made and that place can hurt...

kooklife Friday, 22 May 2020 at 04:52 am new

That place has so much power......I've never felt so out of my depth at 4-6 ft.....those guys have cojones grandes!!!!!

freeride76 Friday, 22 May 2020 at 06:38 am new

packing ten foot close-outs is one way to pass the time I guess.

Blowin Friday, 22 May 2020 at 06:58 am new

It blows my mind just how brave / confident / foolhardy/ masochistic/ driven people can be when it comes to catching a wave.

Crazy stuff.

Bungan33 Friday, 22 May 2020 at 09:31 am new

I echo Sangsta's comment....going to stop complaining about the paddle out when the local gets bigger....surely thats like a one wave session? Buggered if Id be trying to get back out again after a flogging and then a set on the head. Madness!

goofyfoot Friday, 22 May 2020 at 10:09 am new

You’d have to be a real sicko to enjoy surfing Puerto at that size.
I surfed it up to maybe 8ft and got so freaken pumped.
And then having to deal with the 15 ft tube you’re in suddenly closeout, they are mad..

lampy Friday, 22 May 2020 at 03:03 pm new

And then getting sucked back into the impact zone of the next 3 waves by a torrent of a rip.

memlasurf Friday, 22 May 2020 at 12:36 pm new

Yeah not my idea of fun. See how fine that sand is on the beach, it must pack down like concrete.

joesydney Saturday, 23 May 2020 at 12:37 am new

Ha, I got sucked over the falls there and straight onto my knees then face first into the sand, split my nose and looked like someone had taken a sander to my forehead. Saw stars and was a floating body for a bit,
It was only 4ft,,,,,

Left a few in wheelchairs that sandbar

What a waste of time

scrotina Friday, 22 May 2020 at 09:30 pm new

horrible song, amazing clip. i dont know how more people dont die there at that size. the thought of getting caught inside after your wave shuts down...

mattlock Friday, 22 May 2020 at 10:20 pm new

I thought the music suited the clip well. Go the Giz.
Self-Immolate in watery manner.

mikehunt207 Friday, 22 May 2020 at 11:06 pm new

I guess when nobody makes a wave in a whole clip the lifejackets that everybody has on make sense? Surfing in the instagram age....

goofyfoot Saturday, 23 May 2020 at 07:15 am new

Ha! Is that you Greg Long?

I focus Saturday, 23 May 2020 at 10:58 pm new

Have seen it that size no one out, everyone down the end on the left hander but have surfed up to 6ft thought at the time Pascuales was far heavier.

tango Sunday, 24 May 2020 at 10:10 pm new

That's just mental.
