Not for nothing is May in Australia considered the surfer's month. Especially on the East Coast where the shoulder season sees lingering east swells mixing with early arriving south swells to provide an array of waves.
This last May was a peculiar one with the country in lockdown so surfers were largely confined to their home breaks.
On the Gold Coast it meant all the travelling pros and assorted comp warriors were housebound, and that it was during one of the most consistent months in memory made for a videographers delight.
Lachie McKinnon roped in a suite of filmers, plus community sponsors, to compile this feature length film all shot on the Goldy during the month of May.

Loved it. Mick is such a monster with those traditional turns is there anybody who does them better? Kerrsy was terrific and did they really have to show the groms to rub it in.

The level of surfing in this by everyone is of the chart. Nice to see lots of up and comers and names I've never seen before.
someone wondered on here as to how SEQLD could produce such an abundance of great surfers.
He felt there wasn't enough surf.
