As someone that loves to travel and is itching to do it. Good. We have it so really good here and if you don't agree, maybe look at some other places in the world.

Getting stuck in Australia compared to nearly anywhere else in the world is a dream, IMO. Surf? We have it. Money? We have it. Health Care? We have it. Food? Some of the best in the world.

Getting into indo from aus is possible but the cost isn’t cheap. The 1 year I promised my mrs I wouldn’t do a trip too and this happens. I’ll save the Amex points for next year.

That line up just looks like a bog standard busy day at Bankvaults with a flotilla of boats parked in the channel.
Not the only wave working in those conditions in the general area either so you wonder how many foreigners are really there now.
Totally agree Ringmaster, looks like a normal day in the high season, not late October! There would have been waves just about anywhere with that swell.
Is a heavy wave and the big ones just about block our the horizon. I got a good beating there many years ago. Take off is straight forward but powerful then that section is the goods. Looks relatively tame - it wasn't when I was there.
I reckon the opposite, it can look heavy but is actually pretty playful, yeh the wide peak can get you and you will always get a couple of clean up sets on the head when its big but its deep water, the reef isn't sharp, its short and the wash into the channel is straightforward if you get stuck
So Josh Kerr's in Indo, but in August he was in Aussie doing his episode on Rivals, so how did he get out of Australia, isn't it illegal for us to travel? Maybe some business deal and business visa but what about his daughter?
His wife's American and they seem to spend most of ther time their so I'd say his daughter has dual citizenship, if not just American.

My understanding is that is not illegal to travel, but that you do need to get permission/exceptions and be prepared to do quarantine on return. No doubt dual citizenship would help.
