Watch: Kelly Slater at late season Ulus

Kelly's bolthole holiday continues...

As Aussie and Kiwi surfers remain fenced in, and our Euro brethren are on the eve of a second lockdown, KS continues his Indo dalliance. This time picking the eyes out of semi-wobbly Ulus with a series of technical pits and full face whips.

Some good flying from the drone pilot too.

That is some joy footage. You can really see the flow in the movements. It makes for relaxing viewing. Also, I fn' LOVE the soundtrack

The speed he gets off his backhand top turns is insane. Anyone know what board he was riding (including fin setup)?

udo Tuesday, 3 Nov 2020 at 02:21 pm new

A couple of diff boards- Broken one was a stringered thruster
Maybe a Twinnie @ 4.09 ?

freeride76 Tuesday, 3 Nov 2020 at 02:14 pm new

I mean, it’s sort of like an advertisement that says something like “what covid”? It has me wondering...

dandandan Wednesday, 4 Nov 2020 at 01:59 pm new

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Covid doesn't exist by the way that certain expat surfers based in Bali and big named pros are jetting from the Ments to NTB/NTT to Bali to Java every week.

stunet Tuesday, 3 Nov 2020 at 02:23 pm new

Those full face turns that end with a tight curlicue up in the pocket...good shit.

I just took out a too-short board in a bolshie beachbreak to cop some of that feeling.

dawnperiscope Wednesday, 4 Nov 2020 at 02:36 pm new

Strider?

Spuddups Wednesday, 4 Nov 2020 at 03:17 pm new

Looked like he was in his 50s. A goofy version of Kong I reckon.

kookfactor Tuesday, 3 Nov 2020 at 07:48 pm new

We had 1 of the largest swells of spring in WA last Thurs/Fri when that hits Indo they will be frothing for sure.....I saw some inside corners at solid 8ft...outside reefs were 6x overhead.....the North/South bay was a wash thru on Thursday. Fark'n uuuuuge mate.

Just a little reminder of who's the King. Nice.

Spuddups Wednesday, 4 Nov 2020 at 03:19 pm new

Yeah, he’s looking very fluid and relaxed. His style has smoothed out a lot.

udo Thursday, 5 Nov 2020 at 05:38 pm new

KS on Medewi beachies

Jono Thursday, 5 Nov 2020 at 07:21 pm new

Fark he's surfing like a grommet on red cordial.

Puzzled Thursday, 5 Nov 2020 at 09:16 pm new

Good to see him fall / get guillotined on a few too. Makes us mere mortals feel better that even pros don't surf every wave perfectly (unlike their edited clips).
