Ain't no tips on turning a steak or cleaning a hot plate, but plenty of sizzle from Noa Deane and Shaun Manners.
Filmed By Mallmic and Tyge Landa, and edited By Mallmic.
Pavement provides the backing track.

This moment right here has no name.
It’s the bottom turn pump combo when it’s a late drop into a running pit with no time to fit a proper bottom turn , but also without the speed from an angled slide down the face.
If we were skaters we’d have a name for every minute movement and scenario of getting into and out of the barrel. But we don’t so let’s just enjoy the little tingle along the spine we get from triggering the memories of pulling this move off ourselves.
I really like the act these young Aussie guys are doing- Noa Deane , Shaun Manners , Creed Barnes etc and the vids they shoot with Cregan ( ? ). Low key clips with high wire surfing set to good music. A nice mix of tubes , turns and airs. They definitely appear to have an affinity to the rail . A bit heavy on the best unmentioned coasts of Australia if anything but at least they seem to be doing it a bit organically instead of the pump N dump crew.
Anyway here’s the moment that is the blink.of an eye but stay with you for a long , long time :

memories for me watching that.
about this time a decade ago, my wife decided she wanted to move to that island.
we spent 3 days down there in Feb, hired a 4wd. it was fucking freezing, drove around the island non-stop, I didn't pull the board out of the cover (she solo surfed some isolated cove with a seal with it's head chewed off on the sand, while I spotted for dark shapes) , didn't catch a fish and drank my bodyweight in beer overnight.
needless to say, the idea was quietly dropped.

Yeah I didn't even know it had one, saw it on an ASX report, shares went nuts.
"The state government has offered KIS a $10 million loan to help it reopen a mine on the island which has been closed since 1992.
The company has a plan to develop an eight-year open cut mine which is intended to produce 400,000 tonnes of scheelite ore, a form of tungsten, each year."

First time I went years ago Slater had just been, a farmer with white rocks wrote on a hill next to the main road north, Kelly who is she ?
Best trip there was a 10 day trip, we put my mates 4x4 loaded with camping, fishing and surf gear on a boat, flew over picked up the car and camped for 8 nights up north, spent 2 nights at the pub at the end of the trip, stories from the pub stay are more entertaining than the camping, fishing and surfing stay.

Love to surf there. Feels like you could easily get skunked.
Flew in there on my own around 2000-ish with a tent and a coupla boards, camped out at the harbour on my own and hitch-hiked my way around the island for a week - OK waves but nothing amazing (was a planned trip, not a strike mission). Been back a few times.. lotta travel for narrow surf opportunities though. Much easier destinations around.

The white knuckle ride in during bad weather spices things up a bit for the adventurous.
Just make sure you don't have a phobia of twin engine turbo props coming in sideways to land on an airstrip the size of a cow paddock.

Anyone recommend a certain airline for cheapest flights if your booking in advance. Also this joint is barely more south than vic is the cold a bit of a carry on from the boys up north... how much colder can it be than here

Grumpy old caarnt alert.
Good surfing but these young blokes who think they can drive over the dunes like this can go and fark off back to where they came from. As if there aren't enough threats to that particular stretch of coast now without peanuts driving over the dunes. I'd be letting their tyres down if I found them. And if they're "pro" surfers, it's not professional behaviour at all.
Don't start me on the consumerism of surfing and snapped boards.
