If this vid is a barometer of the "market" then I'm seeing 70% airs and 30% power surfing on a rail as a sad reflection of what presses the buttons.

He does airs well, and I suppose you've gotta do the bloody things these days, but his rail turns are sensational. I reckon he's surfing way better with that extra weight.

His airs and rotations don’t have anything close to the pop and speed of rotation of the leading Brazilians

I can’t see the extra weight doing him favours either in the air or on the face

Sorry jules - I would love to see him do well but looks to me like he’s lost some motivation and killer instinct - as an Aussie i’m hoping Ethan and Jack can develop competitive savvy quickly that matches the quality of their rail games and that they can do enough in the air to stay in touch and stir things up

Everyone just stop it. Julian always releases amazing footage just before the season kicks off. Every year the comments flow in about how he is surfing so well and is surely going to win a world title. He's not okay. Need I remind you all of the definition of insanity?

If Julian Wilson has the desire in his heart to win the world title, he will win the world title. He has shown to be more than capable.
