With no contests last Hawaiin season, the 17-year-old took the winter to deconstruct his surfing with the help of coach, Ross Williams.

Says Luke, “We’ve been really working on my approach and mindset going into every single wave. What should I do here, what would have I done in the past… really analysing everything.

"The pressure was kind of off this winter, it was great to have that freedom to work on things.”
