Have said it once, will say it again... Sometimes the guy is so deep in the tube that you literally can't see him from on top of the wave. I don't think this was a burn, but an accident given that the drop-in bailed as soon as he realised what he'd done. It's a shame though, Mitch will always have fomo about this one - the one that got away. If you're in the water, best way to help someone when they're deep in the tube is to start hooting so everyone else knows not to drop in. Fanning gives a really loud whistle on entry. People need to get more friendly/social in the lineup where possible.

Wow, that footage does not capture the intensity at all. Around midday, there were some incredibly thick and heavy waves coming through... The Mitch Parkinson wave above was a mid size one.
Good to see Kirra again after about 20 years. Was there 2-4pm and it wasn't this good. Plenty of close outs/shut downs . For any reasonable ride there was 30+ crappy waves. Hope it was better today fellows.
I'm sure MParko has been guilty of the odd burn here and there over the years, so probably had that one coming. However, it would have been good to see just how far he could have taken that tube...
Agreed, smoking barrel but I saw him a few years ago just brutally smoke a regular punter on what was probably a once in a lifetime wave.
