I’m not sure how you can make the performances of such great surfers seem uninteresting but here you have it. The redeeming feature was the elevated shots of Steph and Macy at one of the sand bottomed rights, which it seems these girls surf to the exclusion of all other breaks if given the option.
Surf girl bubble gum for 13 year olds isn’t really aimed at middle aged blokes, I guess.
Reassuring to see that even world champs get skittled on the rocks.

It was just a fun way to start a Monday - bubble gum? I guess it counters testosterone fueled grunt of 90% of most other short films.

Define successful
I suppose around 500 boards.
Wyld Wymen surfboards. They got a government grant to design a board suitable for the anatomy of female surfers. Think they might have got $20K in the 80’s which was a fair chunk of cash back then. Though I’m sure the resultant boards will be well worth the long wait.
I remember that. Bunch of chicks from around Byron area and the 'boards' were just fibreglass versions of body boards supposed to be 'shaped for the female anatomy' like you said.
After a bit of hype in the Aus surf mags of the day the story pretty well disappeared. They probably went to the Nimbin hinterland and spent the grant on bud.
