Watch: Kirra, 7th September

A legit Kirra session in spring. While it's not completely unheard of it is a rarity, though it's also in keeping with the consistent year the Gold Coast and northern NSW regions have had.

Tuesday's waves were the combination of a jumped up easterly tradewell that formed north of New Zealand, with an underlying southerly groundswell from the lower Tasman, and they broke under a light sou-west windflow tending southerly through the day - clean offshore at Kirra.

The banks are pretty straight.
See that last wave in the clip.
The edit is obviously made up of the best waves over half the day.

Still pound for pound one of the best waves in the world at that size.

I really like seeing these occasional swell events of lovely Kirra.

And the colour of those tubes! Ohh...

Can see why Queenslander's can't be bothered too much about doing airs when you can do this in your back yard.
