Watch: Burleigh After The Rain

Yesterday, after a week of heavy weather, the wind subsided, rain did too, leaving behind this most persistent of tradeswells and some surface colouring to boot.

Though the earth tone may detract from the aesthetics, I highly doubt anyone intimately involved would complain.

And this!

Great angle looking from Kirra into the guts of Greenmount with Mitch Parko, Old Man Margo, and a bunch of unknowns getting wonderfully barrelled.

Insane!! Looks like not a grain of sand nor drop of water out of place at the moment.

That's a great angle, Stu! Thanks for sharing. Zippering fun amongst the masses.

Superbank must be the easiest, most barrelling wave for the intermediate surfer on the planet. Burleigh on the other hand...

Looks like heaps of fun but I'm sure there was a hectic crowd. Worth an ear or throat infection for some of that chocolate goodness :)

Drainpipes! Looks insane.

I wonder what crew from around the world think when watching these clips?

Having lived on the Goldy for a good portion of my life, in amongst some pretty good people it's chock-full of thieves and junkies and bikies and shysters. Beautiful one day, perfect the next.

Personally, I think it should be renamed the Goldplated Coast.

still elements of that, especially in Cooly. But most of the Coastal GC is the zone of millionaires now, much like other coastal areas of Australia. Real estate prices have gone through the roof. Burleigh leads the pack. You can't get much for less than $1mill these days, plenty more than that if you want something decent.

Same morning the shark washed up on the beach.

You should have seen the Ally that morning. absolutely pumping.

Victorian here. The run of waves on the East Coast has been unbelievable. Looking on with continued envy as we go through one of the worst patches for waves in living memory.

Waves were unreal out there early this morning , Waters still dirty but it's not often you score uncrowded good waves on the goldy

good to see the average punter having a crack without pros dropping in

Mechanical! Some of the waves looked like a wavepool, not a drop out of place and so lined up for jelly legs.
