There he was, crouched in his pokey editing room, sweating on a deadline for his latest feature film, and this damn swell reared its head down south.
It would be easy to ignore, for normal people, but wherever big waves break Tim Bonython must be within filming distance.
And so he escaped the room, caught an Uber, fought the crowds to get on a plane, then lugged all his camera gear to the base of Shippies just as the ledge started to stir.

Amazing footage, the water shots at the end were great & provided a perspective I’ve never seen before.
The sound track was like walking into Sportsgirl.

Some are very, very good out there. Others struggle a little more. Interesting to so clearly see the difference in this video.

Not so clear to me IB. Every wave is different there, even in those conditions which are the best I’ve seen.
Wave selection crucial, but you wouldn’t know whether you’d picked the right one till half way down the face.
Loved the raw waves played at normal speed when you can here the guys in the channel hooting every ride.
Music was grating to the ear holes as per. So couldn’t last the whole clip.
It's always the best footage, zoomed out, raw sound, no aids slowmo.
Ha ha, the foam ball wash back that hits him in the side of the head would probably knock me out.

Nat Florence chose his waves well, but all of them are class acts in my book.
Awesome surfing and filming, awful music. I’d be hesitant to go see one of his films on the big screen if he throws that shit up as the soundtrack.
The needessentials crew with Headland as their soundtracks have shown just how good it can be to have a quality soundtrack to good surfing.
