Watch: Mason Ho // The Medieval Wave

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Reels

It's the last instalment of a seven-part series that we paid only fleeting attention to. Mason Ho in Scotland, focussing his attention on a semi-closeout righthand slab.

The video is eighteen-minutes long but the surfing itself is just a few minutes near the start.

Can someone help me out here? Is it just me, or is there a recent video editing fad where the footage goes all twitchy and there are sometimes frames spliced into the main reel? It's very overt in this video, but i've noticed it more subtly in several clips lately and have wondered if it's a browser issue for me, or an editing technique? Either way, I'm not a fan. I'm all for creativity, but it doesn't agree with me at all.

If not for Cliff Booth, Mason Ho would be my favourite stuntman.

He would love the shoalhaven coast. Charging booger waves.

He has had a crack - there is some footage of him and Fanning at Redsands and Cowries and other waves down South

That was fun to watch. Good waves and good surfing.

The Scotland clip is totally stupid, I reckon.

Agreed about the Scotland vid, waste of good boards every time you surf it.

Have enjoyed all his other clips but that surf is bordering on pointlessness. Loveya Mase but be careful mate accidents can happen to anyone

For the past month or so I've watched a few of these when they've been posted. Enjoyed them. But, there was something that nagged me slightly about the series. You see, I had no idea it was a series, and it was the same wave in the 3 videos I watched, so I thought the same video was being posted every week or so and NO ONE was calling out that it had already been posted a week before. Glad to find out it's a 7 parter with other waves as well and I'm not experiencing the Mandela Effect or losing my mind. Just a bit dumb perhaps!
