Watch: Saturday With Gabrielle

With the forerunners striking late on Friday, Saturday morning - a sunny summer morning with good winds - was locked into everyone's diary.

Craig Halstead shot up the line at the Superbank during the early monring low. Lots of people, lots of barrels too, but not many made.

Still, it makes for great viewing.

As of Sunday morning, the northerly is playing havoc on the Queensland points, while down south, a southerly has passed through the Illawarra and is now hitting Sydney. Somewhere in between, perhaps quite a few places in between, the mix of swell and wind must be just right.

Hang on, 2 anda half minutes of the super bank without a drop in? People waiting until after a rider as fallen off before turning and going? Wow.

Yep, I’ll put my hand up, bit pissed off as wave before come off a round house cuttie & two reo’s with fins out after exiting the barrel & wasn’t caught on film, always the way, your best wave never on film!

I’m expecting some interesting vids to come through over the next week. Hard to decipher the swell on open ocean as the southerly has been pretty strong.

The noosa vids coming out look like better waves and more manageable and crusier crowd.
Don't say that often.
