I wonder what Barra looks like on these swells. I never got Puerto that big (but still big and most scary spot I have ever surfed) but Barra might max out?
would be pumping. As would points further south.
I just can't fathom surfing those waves at Porto when there are epic point barrels to be had elsewhere...

I stayed in Puerto for about six week’s learning Spanish and surfing before heading to surf empty rock groynes in Chiapas. It such a unique place Mexico, you can never let your guard down in the water on on land. The food and waves are epic and the locals super chilled. I can’t wait to go back one day.
Did you get down as far as Tapachula on the Guatemalan border and get waves? I did a short stint working there but never saw anything worth paddling even when swell was hitting Oaxaca.
