Today, the sun travelled as far north as it gets, at midday sitting 90° above the Tropic of Cancer. Which has absolutely no bearing on the surf that happened today at Duranbah but seems a good way to introduce it.
With minimal daylight and chilly temeratures, Craig Halstead parked himself in the sun as lines of southerly swell crossed the Tweed Bar splitting into lovely wedges and peaks.

Seen him countless times on the goldie snaking, strutting and dropping in, surf etiquette zero. I'm not sure he realizes he's widely scoffed at as being the biggest flog ever in the surfing publics eye, and that probably makes him an even bigger flog if that's possible...
Glad i wasnt the only one commenting on occy but he did amazingly seem to get 3 waves where he appeared to not drop in.
