board length seems short compared to other guys...anyone know?

tack616 Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 06:37 pm new

yeah he does normally ride shorter boards at jaws

Next level surfing. Albee is incredible. (I think he's normally on an 8'2 or 8'4.)

Music was an abomination.

I was just waiting for the first comment on the soundtrack! Not sure if that will go down well with the middle of the auditory bell curve of this Swellnet brethren......

epictard Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 11:49 am new

Slipknot are pretty 'middle of the bell curve', you can even understand the lyrics.

Wish I had the drive (and skill) and to take on those waves; awesome to watch and surf vicariously will suffice.

mattlock Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 07:36 pm new

Yeah. Slipknot are almost pop/metal.Although not quite in the pop realm of Linken Park or the Offspring.

haha, totally mattlock - like Korn, bahaha. For all its naughty-little-boy imagery and double-kick, all nu metal may as well be Evanescence. This Slipknot song sounds like I Ran by Flock of Seagulls, played by too-cool 16 year-olds in white-trash working-class burbs (like des moines). I like it! The inspired editing and epic footage makes it work well.

Intense viewing.
IMHO the music suited the clip.

Bungan33 Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 10:25 am new

While the tunes are not my preference I totally agree! Violent and intense - like the wave.

Craig Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 12:14 pm new

Yep, matched well.

GONAD_MAN Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 01:26 pm new

The music reminded me of the old Hawaii 9 Series. I still pull those movies out to watch every now and again. Cant beat Metal to Hawaiian Surf clips IMO.

Nick Bone Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 06:13 pm new

Hawaii 94. All time classic

GONAD_MAN Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 07:07 pm new

100% agree Nick. Definitely my favourite also. :)

dan@shoreline Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 09:43 pm new

Can I check that out on line? Sounds right up my alley

GONAD_MAN Saturday, 8 Jul 2023 at 09:37 am new

You can watch it on Youtube. Hawaii94..

goofyfoot Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 08:31 pm new

Sickest style. And yeah that song suited the clip perfectly i reckon.

Give the man an invite to the next Eddie - should have been in the last one!

Komodo Saturday, 8 Jul 2023 at 08:09 am new

Definitely got some plums!

Remigogo Saturday, 8 Jul 2023 at 10:39 am new

I haven't bothered to watch any Jaws sessions for a while. Glad to see this one 'cause some of those paddle ins are pretty, bloody, impressive!!

velocityjohnno Saturday, 8 Jul 2023 at 08:24 pm new

He times the takeoff to perfection, flatter rocker quad, standing early or just before it pitches. Board seems to traverse - but looks jittery on the bumps. Feel dirty saying that about probably my favourite Jaws surfer to watch.

Looks like he's got his equipment nailed for those conditions out there.

saltman Friday, 14 Jul 2023 at 08:14 am new

The absence of ultra slow motion gave a much better perspective of the intensity of the waves and how critical the surfing was
