Four days ago he uploaded a photo to his Instagram account lying in repose on a gym floor in North Straddie, yet today footage has surfaced of Ethan Ewing doing wrapping top turns - is that what Joe calls 'em? - at good size Trestles. See 0:40, and then hover over the timeline till a coloured head appears indicating a Top 5 surfer.
There's been very little news about Ethan's back, both from the social media shy surfer and the Woz, so short of knowing if he's following the suggested recovery timeline, we can only go on how he's surfing now and he's clearly surfing within himself.
At any rate, it looks like he's gonna surf the Final's Day.
Worth noting the forecast has been spiced up with some hurricane swell. Craig will have an update on that tomorrow.

Great to see Ethan Ewing surfing at Trestles. BTW, Courtney Conlogue (purple wetsuit) in my opinion has a very good chance to take out the women's world title based in her surfing at Trestles in the video above. She out surfed the other girls and most male surfers in the water.
I believe the surfer in purple is most likely Lakey Peterson. Agree she was ripping. However Courtney never made the cut and Lakey isn’t in the finals.
